The Fast and Easy Air Fryer Cleaning Technique

Air fryers have revolutionized our kitchens and cooking habits, offering delicious, healthy meals like our fries recipe in a fraction of the time as an oven or other conventional methods. But just like any other kitchen utensil, keeping an air fryer clean is essential for optimal performance and longevity. Don’t worry, though, because we’ve got you covered with a super-fast and easy cleaning method that requires minimal water contact. Say goodbye to tedious scrubbing and hello to more time enjoying your air-fried creations!

This method is designed to be a quick and efficient way to clean your air fryer without the need for constant hand washing. It’s perfect for those busy days when you just want to enjoy your meal and move on to other tasks. So, let’s dive into the steps for this hassle-free cleaning process:

Once your air fryer has finished cooking and the food is ready, promptly dump the contents onto a plate. This will make it easier to clean the air fryer while it’s still hot, which is crucial for efficient cleaning without the need to scrub vigorously.

Step 1: Bring the Air Fryer Basket to the Sink

Once your air fryer has finished cooking and the food is ready, promptly dump the contents onto a plate and take the basket to the sink. This will make it easier to clean the air fryer while it’s still hot, which is crucial for efficient cleaning without the need to scrub vigorously. Don’t be tempted to let that basket leave your hand or it’ll be harder to clean later!

Step 2: Add a Squirt of Soap

Next, add a small squirt of dawn dish soap to the air fryer basket. The soap will help to break down grease and food particles, making them easier to wash away.

Step 3: Turn on the Faucet to Low

Next, fill the basket with a small amount of water.

Step 5: Swish Around Soap Until it Foams

Using a gentle swishing motion, mix the soap and water in the air fryer basket until it becomes foamy. This will ensure that the soap is evenly distributed and starts breaking down any residue.

Step 6: Pour Out Soapy Water

Once the soap has foamed, carefully pour the soapy water out of the air fryer basket. This step will remove some of the loosened food particles and grease.

Step 7: Rinse and Swish until all Soap is Gone

Fill the air fryer basket with a little water and swish it around to rinse away any remaining soap. This step helps ensure that all soap and food particles are removed from the basket. It’s essential to remove all traces of soap, as any residue could affect the taste of your future air-fried meals.

Step 9: Finishing Up

At this point, if only a tiny bit of oil and water is left over, don’t stress. Just put the basket back in the air fryer, and you’re done! There’s no need to wet your hands further or do any additional cleaning.

However, if there’s a lot of material or something heavy stuck to the bottom of the air fryer basket, you’ll need to use the soft side of the sponge to lightly wipe it up. Remember not to use the abrasive side of the sponge, as this can scratch the nonstick coating.

Finally, insert the basket back into the air fryer. No need to dry the basket with a towel – residual heat in the air fryer will do the trick!
